सप्तचत्वारिंशः सर्गः — वानरयूथपानां अन्वेषणवृत्तान्तनिवेदनम्

तदहः प्रथमं कृत्वा मासे प्रश्रवणं गताः।कपिराजेन सङ्गम्य निराशाः कपियूधपाः।।4.47.6।।
tad ahaḥ prathamaṁ kṛtvā māse praśravaṇaṁ gatāḥ |
kapirājena saṅgamya nirāśāḥ kapiyūdhapāḥ || 4.47.6 ||
ครั้นผ่านวันแรกไป แล้วดำเนินต่อเนื่องจนครบหนึ่งเดือน บรรดาหัวหน้ากองทัพวานรได้ไปถึงปรัศรวณะ; เมื่อเข้าเฝ้าพญาวานรแล้ว ต่างก็สิ้นหวัง เพราะไม่พบร่องรอยแห่งนางสีดา
