Sugriva’s Remorse and Tara’s Lament after Vali’s Death
यथा प्रतिज्ञातमिदं नरेन्द्रकृतं त्वया दृष्टफलं च कर्म।ममाद्य भोगेषु नरेन्द्रपुत्रमनो निवृत्तं सहजीवितेन।।
yathā pratijñātam idaṃ narendra kṛtaṃ tvayā dṛṣṭaphalaṃ ca karma | mamādya bhogeṣu narendraputra mano nivṛttaṃ sahajīvitena ||
ข้าแต่พระราชา ดังที่ทรงปฏิญาณไว้ พระองค์ได้กระทำการนั้นแล้ว และผลของกรรมนั้นก็ประจักษ์ชัด แต่วันนี้ โอ้ราชกุมาร ใจของข้าพเจ้าได้หันเหจากความเพลิดเพลินทั้งปวง แม้กระทั่งจากชีวิตร่วมอยู่ก็เช่นกัน
'Your majesty! you have struck down Vali as promised and the consequences of your action are seen now. O prince, however, my mind is not interested in the enjoyment of pleasures. I have no interest in life.
