The Manifestation of the Śloka
ब्रह्मणा समनुज्ञातस्सोऽप्युपाविशदासने । उपविष्टे तदा तस्मिन्सर्वलोकपितामहे।तद्गतेनैव मनसा वाल्मीकिर्ध्यानमास्थित: ।।1.2.27।।
brahmaṇā samanujñātaḥ so ’py upāviśad āsane | upaviṣṭe tadā tasmin sarvalokapitāmahe | tadgatenaiva manasā vālmīkir dhyānam āsthitaḥ ||1.2.27||
เมื่อได้รับอนุญาตจากพระพรหม เขาก็นั่งลงบนอาสนะ ครั้นพระปิตามหะผู้เป็นบิดาแห่งโลกทั้งปวงประทับอยู่แล้ว วาลมีกิก็ยังดำรงอยู่ในสมาธิ ใจแน่วแน่ผูกอยู่กับเหตุการณ์นั้นเอง
Having been ordered by Brahma, he also sat down on a seat. Although seated in the presence of the lord of the worlds, he was absorbed in the thought of events (leading to the death of the krauncha ).
A dharmic mind does not ignore suffering: even in exalted company it remains attentive to injustice, seeking truthful understanding rather than distraction.
Brahmā and Vālmīki are seated, but Vālmīki’s attention remains on the troubling event at the river.
Vālmīki’s deep moral sensitivity and sustained focus.
