अयोमुखी-दर्शनम् तथा कबन्ध-प्रवेशः

Ayomukhi Encounter and the ظهور of Kabandha

अथ तौ समभिक्रम्य क्रोशमात्रे ददर्शतुः।।।।महान्तं दारुणं भीमं कबन्धं भुजसंवृम्।कबन्धमिव संस्थानादतिघोरप्रदर्शनम्।।।।

atha tau samabhikramya krośa-mātre dadarśatuḥ |

mahāntaṁ dāruṇaṁ bhīmaṁ kabandhaṁ bhuja-saṁvṛtam |

kabandham iva saṁsthānād ati-ghora-pradarśanam ||3.69.33||

แล้วทั้งสองก้าวไปได้ราวหนึ่งโกรศ ก็แลเห็นกบันธะ—ใหญ่ยิ่ง ดุร้าย น่าสะพรึงกลัว รูปร่างดุจลำตัวไร้ศีรษะ มีวงแขนมหึมาล้อมรอบไปทั่ว และมีสัณฐานอันน่าหวาดผวายิ่งนัก

Then the brothers after covering one krosa (2 miles) saw a cruel, fierce, mighty monster named Kabandha looking like a trunk. He had a dreadful appearance and his arms encircled the area.
