विलापः / The Lament at Jatāyu and the Abduction of Sītā

ततस्तु सा चारुदती शुचिस्मिता विनाकृता बन्धुजनेन मैथिली।अपश्यती राघवलक्ष्मणावुभौ विवर्णवक्त्राभयभारपीडिता।।।।

tatas tu sā cāru-datī śuci-smitā vinākṛtā bandhu-janena maithilī |

apaśyatī rāghava-lakṣmaṇāv ubhau vivarṇa-vaktrā bhaya-bhāra-pīḍitā ||

แล้วนางไมถิลี ผู้มีฟันงามและยิ้มผ่องใส ถูกตัดขาดจากหมู่ญาติ ไม่ได้เห็นทั้งพระราฆวะและพระลักษมณะ ใบหน้าซีดเผือด ถูกความหวาดกลัวกดทับหนักหนา
