FAQs

It presents a symbolic mapping where certain Purāṇas are identified with different parts of the divine/cosmic body (hair, skin, back, fat), emphasizing their sacred and integrated status.

Skanda Purāṇa = body-hair (lomāni); Vāmana Purāṇa = skin (tvak); Kūrma Purāṇa = back (pṛṣṭha); Mātsya Purāṇa = fat (medaḥ).

Indirectly, yes: the verse uses a ‘divine body’ symbolism common in Purāṇic and Vaiṣṇava-leaning frameworks of textual sanctity, though the specific deity is not named in the provided line.
