FAQs

It teaches that unwavering devotion (sudṛḍhā bhakti) arises only when worldly clinging is reduced; hence, bhakti is strengthened through deliberate detachment and sustained practice directed to Hari.

The verse recommends self-discipline: recognize attachments that weaken spiritual focus, relinquish them, and replace them with consistent devotional conduct.

It targets binding attachment (saṅga) rather than compassionate living; the instruction is to abandon clinging that obstructs devotion, not necessarily to abandon all duties or benevolent relationships.
