Unspecified speaker (context needed to identify the character with certainty)

Concept: Misrecognition of the sacred (or of dharma’s symbol) leads to grave offense; labeling another as ‘sin incarnate’ can itself be a symptom of delusion and anger.

Application: Avoid absolutist condemnation in anger; verify, inquire, and restrain speech—words can become karmic weapons.

Primary Rasa: raudra

Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka

Type: celestial_realm

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"The brāhmaṇa, eyes blazing, points and shouts at a powerful bull poised to depart. The bull’s gaze is calm and inscrutable, as if bearing a hidden divinity; the space between them crackles with the tension of a curse about to be born.","primary_figures":["brāhmaṇa (angered)","bull (vṛṣa)"],"setting":"open expanse with a faint celestial horizon; dust and broken anthill clods at the brāhmaṇa’s feet; the bull half-turned as if ascending.","lighting_mood":"electric, storm-before-strike","color_palette":["charcoal black","fiery orange","antique gold","earthy umber","pale ash"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: fierce brāhmaṇa with raised arm and accusatory finger, mouth open mid-declaration; majestic bull with ornate harness-like motifs, calm eyes; gold-leaf highlights on halos and borders, rich vermilion background, stylized clouds, dramatic frontal composition.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: nuanced facial expressions—rage versus serenity; the bull rendered with delicate shading and a subtle aura; sparse landscape with airy sky wash, refined linework emphasizing the pointed gesture and the bull’s poised movement.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold contours, exaggerated expressive eyes; brāhmaṇa in dynamic stance, bull in dignified profile; strong red/yellow/green palette with black cloud bands, temple mural framing patterns.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: decorative border of lotus vines; central confrontation scene with stylized bull and priestly figure; deep blue ground with gold floral filigree, rhythmic motifs suggesting vibrating speech and prāṇa."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"dramatic","suggested_raga":"Bhairavi","pace":"fast-dramatic","voice_tone":"authoritative","sound_elements":["thunder rumble","sharp hand cymbals","wind gust","sudden silence after the threat"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: संभाषमाणस्तु → संभाषमाणः तु. त्वामथ → त्वाम् अथ. हन्म्यहं → हन्मि अहम् (य्-आगम sandhi).

FAQs

The verse itself does not name the speaker. In many Purāṇic contexts, “vṛṣa” can be a literal bull or a symbolic reference (often connected with Dharma). Identifying the speaker requires the surrounding verses of Adhyaya 20.

The phrase frames wrongdoing as an embodied moral threat, justifying immediate restraint or punishment. It emphasizes accountability and the urgency of confronting adharma rather than tolerating it.

“Pratyakṣam” (“directly, before my eyes”) intensifies the immediacy and public certainty of the act, implying decisive action without delay, secrecy, or doubt.
