Narrator (Purāṇic genealogical narration; specific speaker not identifiable from the single verse alone)

Concept: Orderly succession and responsible progeny are presented as supports of social dharma.

Application: Plan for continuity—train successors, share knowledge, and keep commitments so responsibilities do not collapse with one person.

Primary Rasa: shanta

FAQs

It is a genealogical statement listing successive descendants: Haryaśva → Nikuṃbha → Saṃhatāśva → (Akṛtāśva and Raṇāśva).

Not directly; the verse functions primarily as lineage-record (vaṃśa) material within the creation-era narrative framework of the Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa.

Such lists preserve traditional memory of dynasties and transmission lines, linking cosmology and history, and providing narrative continuity for later episodes involving these families.
