FAQs

It presents a numerical count (“eighty-six”) associated with specific zodiac signs (rāśis), framed as a ‘phala’ (result/benefit) statement, suggesting the verse belongs to a larger enumerative passage.

Not directly. The verse functions more like an informational or phala-style enumeration (including rāśis and a number), rather than a devotional instruction; any Bhakti emphasis would likely appear in surrounding verses.

Its primary function is descriptive: it signals that the speaker is giving a complete accounting (“nikhilam”) for the benefit of people, emphasizing careful transmission of traditional knowledge in a systematic, enumerated form.
