Concept: Mind-born (mānasa) beings embody the potency of intention and divine will; names and numbers (eleven Rudras) encode cosmological structure.

FAQs

They are a traditional group of eleven manifestations/aspects of Rudra (Śiva) described across Purāṇic and Vedic literature, often presented as cosmic functionaries and leaders of Śiva’s retinues.

It indicates beings produced by mental will or intention rather than physical generation—an idiom used in creation narratives to describe emanation from a deity’s or creator’s mind.

The trident signifies Rudra/Śiva’s authority over cosmic functions, while ‘boons’ highlights their power to grant favors—together marking them as potent divine agents within the Śaiva theological frame.
