FAQs

Vibhīṣaṇa is the righteous king associated with Laṅkā in the Rāmāyaṇa tradition, here referenced in connection with the question of governing the kingdom.

The verse raises an anxiety about political order: how rule will be established and maintained in Laṅkā—specifically, how Vibhīṣaṇa will administer the kingdom and how the Rākṣasa side will execute governance.

It highlights the dharmic concern for stable, rightful governance—implying that legitimate rule is not merely about power, but about the capacity to administer a kingdom responsibly and in accordance with order (dharma).
