FAQs

It emphasizes steadfast companionship and the dharma of marriage (dāṃpatya-vrata), expressed as a commitment that remains firm across different states of existence—divine or human.

It denotes a person (here, a wife) devoted to the duties and ethical vows of married life—loyalty, mutual support, and long-term commitment as part of dharma.

Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa often frames dharma as cosmic order operating through different realms and births; this verse mirrors that by presenting marital duty as consistent whether one is in a divine or human embodiment.
