A devotee/supplicant addressing Lord Viṣṇu (Hari)

Concept: Seek boons that preserve dharmic bonds and invite Lakṣmī’s abiding presence; divine household (Hari’s śayana with Śrī) becomes the template for human well-being.

Application: Pray for relational stability and ethical prosperity; cultivate cleanliness, generosity, and daily worship so ‘Śrī’ in the home means harmony, not hoarding.

Primary Rasa: shringara

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A serene bedroom threshold is shown as sacred space: a couple offers a lamp to Viṣṇu while envisioning the Lord’s eternal couch where Lakṣmī sits at His feet. The home glows with signs of Śrī—fresh grains, clean vessels, and a calm, harmonious atmosphere—suggesting prosperity as sanctity.","primary_figures":["Viṣṇu (Hari)","Lakṣmī (Śrī)","devotee couple"],"setting":"Domestic interior blending shrine and household space; a symbolic divine śayana (Ananta couch) appears as a vision above the altar.","lighting_mood":"lamp-lit","color_palette":["deep indigo","antique gold","lotus pink","cream white","leaf green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Viṣṇu reclining on Ananta with Lakṣmī at His feet, appearing as a blessing-vision over a household shrine; couple below with lamp and offerings; lavish gold leaf on serpent hoods and halos, rich reds/greens, gem-like ornamentation, ornate pillars framing the scene.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: intimate interior with delicate textiles and patterned bedding; a soft divine vision of Ananta-śayana in the upper corner; gentle expressions, cool blues and pinks, fine architectural lines, lyrical domestic sanctity.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: stylized Ananta-śayana with bold outlines, Lakṣmī seated close; devotee couple offering lamp; warm red/yellow/green pigments, decorative floral borders, temple-wall composition adapted to a home setting.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central Ananta-śayana motif surrounded by lotus garlands and auspicious household symbols (kalasha, grains); deep blue ground with gold lotuses, symmetrical border, devotional textile richness emphasizing Śrī’s presence."}

FAQs

It frames marital unity and sustained prosperity as legitimate devotional aspirations, asking that the spouse-bond remain unbroken and that the home remain blessed with Lakṣmī (well-being, auspiciousness).

The imagery highlights inseparability: Lakṣmī is traditionally ever-present with Viṣṇu. The devotee prays for a parallel constancy of auspiciousness in their own life.

The verse suggests that devotion can include prayers for stability, harmony, and right prosperity—valuing fidelity and auspicious living while grounding these wishes in divine exemplars.
