Unspecified (narratorial/ritual-instruction voice within Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa 23)

Concept: Vaiṣṇava yajña, done with careful procedure, becomes a direct mode of worship and inner purification.

Application: Treat daily worship like a ‘small yajña’: prepare the space, act attentively, and offer the best portion (time/effort) with steadiness.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: temple

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A consecrated Vaiṣṇava yajña-maṇḍapa is arranged with a central fire-pit glowing steadily. A priest, hands steady, pours a continuous ājyadhārā into the middle kuṇḍa while Viṣṇu’s presence is suggested as a subtle blue radiance above the flames, as if the offering rises directly to Him.","primary_figures":["Vaiṣṇava yajamāna","hotṛ/priest","Viṣṇu (subtle presence or icon)","Agni (sacrificial fire)"],"setting":"Ritual pavilion with vedi, central kuṇḍa, darbha grass, ladles, conch and bell, and a small Viṣṇu altar to the east.","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit","color_palette":["saffron orange","ghee-gold","smoke-gray","sandalwood beige","deep sapphire blue"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: a richly ornamented Vaiṣṇava yajña-maṇḍapa with a central square kuṇḍa, thick gold-leaf flames, priest pouring a gleaming ājyadhārā, Viṣṇu icon on a pedestal with gem-studded crown and śrīvatsa, ornate arches, rich vermilion and emerald textiles, heavy gold embellishment and traditional South Indian iconography.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: an intimate yajña scene with delicate brushwork—small central fire-pit, thin stream of ghee, priests in white, a serene Viṣṇu shrine in the background, soft naturalistic smoke curling into a pale sky, refined faces, gentle earth tones with a cool blue accent for Viṣṇu’s aura.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold black outlines and natural pigments—square kuṇḍa with stylized flames, priest in white with red borders, Viṣṇu depicted with large expressive eyes and blue-green body tone in a side panel, symmetrical ritual objects, temple-wall aesthetic with dominant reds, yellows, and greens.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: a devotional pavilion framed by lotus borders and intricate floral patterns, central homa fire rendered as a sacred motif, Viṣṇu/Nārāyaṇa presence suggested above the kuṇḍa, deep indigo background with gold highlights, ornate textile-like detailing and symmetrical composition."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"devotional","suggested_raga":"Yaman","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"authoritative","sound_elements":["temple bells","crackling fire","soft conch shell","murmured mantras","gentle silence between offerings"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: सम्यग्यागं = सम्यक् + यागम् (क् + य् → ग्य्)। दद्यात्तु = दद्यात् + तु।

FAQs

It instructs the performer to correctly set up a Vaiṣṇava sacrifice and then to offer a steady stream of ghee (ājya-dhārā) into the central fire-pit (madhyama-kuṇḍa) with careful attention.

By specifying a “Vaiṣṇava” yāga, the verse frames the sacrificial act as oriented toward Viṣṇu, emphasizing devotional and theistic ritual correctness rather than sacrifice as a merely formal act.

It highlights diligence and precision (yatnataḥ) in sacred duties—devotional intent should be matched by careful execution of prescribed actions.
