Concept: Devotional recitation or hearing of this triadic teaching destroys impurity (kalusha) and purifies the listener/reciter.

Application: Adopt a daily śravaṇa/kīrtana habit: read a few verses with attention, listen to recitation, or chant a short stotra—treating sound as a discipline that cleans mental ‘kalusha’ (resentment, distraction).

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Three luminous presences appear in a vertical cosmic alignment: Brahmā on a lotus, Viṣṇu with conch and discus at the center, and Rudra with trident above a subtle crescent glow. Below them, devotees sit in attentive listening posture, as dark smoke-like ‘kalusha’ dissolves into clear light around their hearts and heads.","primary_figures":["Brahmā","Viṣṇu","Rudra (Śiva)","devotee reciter","devotee listeners"],"setting":"cosmic space blending into a simple hermitage hall—suggesting that the universe itself becomes the recitation chamber","lighting_mood":"divine radiance","color_palette":["sapphire blue","lotus pink","ash white","radiant gold","smoky violet"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: cosmic triad—Brahmā on lotus, Viṣṇu central with śaṅkha-cakra, Rudra with triśūla—each with thick gold leaf halos; devotees below in śravaṇa posture, sin-smoke dissolving into gold light; rich reds/greens, gem-like ornaments, ornate borders.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: ethereal triad floating above a quiet listening assembly, delicate gradients of blue sky, refined faces, subtle smoke motifs fading, fine linework on conch/discus/trident, lyrical composition with gentle wonder.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: iconic triad stacked in rhythmic symmetry, bold outlines, saturated pigments (blue, red, yellow, green), stylized eyes, devotees seated below, decorative bands suggesting mantra vibrations and purification.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central Viṣṇu figure emphasized with lotus motifs and ornate floral borders; Brahmā and Rudra as flanking medallions; devotees in symmetrical rows; deep blue ground with gold detailing, intricate patterns suggesting sacred sound waves."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"devotional","suggested_raga":"Durga","pace":"slow-meditative","voice_tone":"serene","sound_elements":["soft drone (tanpura)","temple bells (distant)","silence between phrases","conch shell (very soft)"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: देवास्त्रिषु = देवाः + त्रिषु; यस्तु = यः + तु; चापि = च + अपि.

FAQs

Rudra is named as the presiding deity (rudra-daivatyam), implying a Rudra-governed aspect or division within a triadic scheme described in the chapter.

It states that devotional recitation or even devotional listening (bhaktyā paṭhati… śṛṇoti) removes impurities, highlighting devotion as efficacious spiritual practice.

Purification is linked to sincere engagement with sacred teaching—studying and listening with devotion—encouraging humility, attentiveness, and regular scriptural remembrance.
