Concept: Divine grace personally ‘takes the hand’ of the devotee-king, leading him (with his wife) to the Lord’s abode—salvation as guided companionship, not solitary achievement.

Application: Practice devotion as a household path—shared worship, ethical rule, and mutual support; cultivate surrender, trusting that grace provides ‘handhold’ in crises.

FAQs

Hari refers to Viṣṇu, portrayed here as the divine protector who grants “hastāvalambanam”—personal aid or safeguarding support—to the king.

Literally “support of the hand,” it suggests direct divine assistance—Viṣṇu’s saving help that steadies a devotee (or righteous ruler) through difficulty.

It highlights reliance on divine grace alongside righteous conduct: the king is invited onward (with his wife), and the narrative underscores that protection ultimately comes from Hari’s compassionate intervention.
