Womb-Suffering and the Path to Liberation
Dialogue of Wisdom, Meditation, and Discernment
viveka uvāca | sukhena sthīyate deva bhavatā viśvanāyaka | āgate tvayi saṃsāre kiṃ kiṃ bhuktaṃ sukhaṃ svayam
Viveka
Concept: Discernment respectfully questions the ‘world-guide’ Self about the actual pleasures of saṃsāra—implying that pleasures are examined, not assumed.
Application: Before chasing a desire, ask: ‘What lasting sukha did this ever yield?’ Use the answer to redirect toward sattvic joy—kīrtana, seva, vrata discipline.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Viveka stands with folded hands before a radiant, regal Ātman addressed as ‘guide of the universe’. Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"meditative","suggested_raga":"Desh","pace":"slow-meditative","voice_tone":"reverent-soft","sound_elements":["soft tanpura","gentle bell at vocatives","distant conch","quiet room tone"]}
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
The speaker is Viveka, who asks the addressed Lord/guide of the universe what kinds of pleasures he has personally enjoyed after entering saṃsāra (worldly existence).
It frames a reflective inquiry into the nature of worldly happiness (sukha) and lived experience within saṃsāra, setting up ethical or spiritual evaluation of enjoyment.
The verse encourages self-examination: before valuing pleasure, one should ask what it truly consists of, how it is experienced, and whether it is worthy compared to higher spiritual aims.
