FAQs

The verse describes undertaking a tīrthayātrā—travel to sacred pilgrimage sites—specifically accompanied by one’s wife.

It highlights purposeful religious travel (tīrtha-yātrā) and the importance of safeguarding a pilgrim’s journey through righteous, “auspicious” protection.

A second, respectful respondent promises protection (“I shall provide auspicious protection”), but the verse alone does not identify the person; the surrounding verses are needed to name the speaker.
