Unspecified (narrative voice within Padma Purāṇa, Bhūmi-khaṇḍa)

Concept: Yajna, good conduct, and tapas generate tejas (spiritual radiance) and parakrama (moral-heroic strength); parental nurturing sustains dharmic excellence.

Application: Build character through consistent disciplines (study, restraint, service); support and mentor others repeatedly (‘punah punah’) rather than expecting instant virtue.

Primary Rasa: vira

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Five young men perform a serene fire sacrifice, their faces calm yet luminous, while their mother stands behind them offering support—holding a water pot and a tray of flowers. The sacrificial fire rises like a golden pillar, visually translating ‘tapas-tejas’, while their posture suggests restrained heroism rather than aggression.","primary_figures":["Five sons (yajvānāḥ)","Mother (nurturer)","Agni (sacrificial fire, symbolic)"],"setting":"A yajna-shala in a household compound: brick fire-altar, kusa grass, ladles, ghee pot, and a small Vishnu emblem on a banner (implicit Vaishnava frame).","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["saffron orange","smoke gray","ghee-gold","leaf green","vermillion red"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: five sons seated around a blazing yajna-kunda, mother standing in blessing posture, gold leaf flames and halos, rich maroon backdrop, ornate pillars, gem-like detailing on ritual vessels, subtle shankha-chakra motifs to signal Vaishnava dharma.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: delicate yajna scene with thin smoke curls, soft dawn sky, refined faces, cool earthy palette, mother’s gentle gaze, lyrical trees beyond the courtyard, meticulous ritual implements rendered with fine brushwork.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: stylized yajna-kunda with bold outlines, rhythmic flame patterns, mother and sons in frontal poses, strong reds/yellows/greens, decorative border of lotus and conch motifs, temple-wall symmetry.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: yajna scene framed by lotus vines and floral borders, deep blue ground with gold highlights, ritual fire as central mandala-like motif, peacocks in corners, Vaishnava symbols subtly integrated."}

FAQs

The verse praises sacrificial discipline (yajña), virtuous conduct (puṇya-śīla), the spiritual radiance produced by austerity (tapas-tejas), and heroic valor (parākrama).

It implies an inner potency or radiance generated through self-discipline and austerity—an ethical-spiritual strength rather than mere physical brilliance.

Sustained moral living, disciplined practice, and repeated nurturing guidance lead to the steady growth of character and capability.
