FAQs

Soma refers to the Moon-deity, traditionally linked with sovereignty, nourishment, and ritual potency; the verse depicts his formal consecration (abhiṣeka) to royal status.

It frames authority as grounded in spiritual and ethical power—tapas (austerity), dharma (righteousness), and dharma-yajña (righteous sacrifice)—rather than mere force.

The verse implies that true brilliance (tejas) arises from merit (puṇya) and sanctity, encouraging leadership rooted in virtuous conduct and sacred duty.
