FAQs

The verse directly addresses Nārada. It asks a theological question: if saṃsāra is merely the display of (Her) māyā, why would the Jagatpati—the Lord of the universe—enter or participate in saṃsāra?

It frames saṃsāra as a māyā-prapañca—an expansive, constructed manifestation of māyā—rather than an ultimate reality, highlighting a common Purāṇic and Vedāntic theme of worldly experience as dependent and conditioned.

It encourages discernment (seeing worldly life as māyā’s display) while deepening devotion and inquiry: even if the Lord is beyond saṃsāra, divine involvement in the world can be contemplated as purposeful—guiding beings, sustaining dharma, and enabling liberation.
