FAQs

“Gadgada” indicates a voice or expression that falters or trembles—often from strong emotion—so her laughter is portrayed as choked or quivering with feeling.

It means “that which furthers my aim/purpose,” suggesting the speaker believes her delighted, repeated laughter will help accomplish his intended plan.

This single verse does not name the speaker; identifying the speaker reliably requires the surrounding verses of Bhūmi-khaṇḍa, Adhyāya 119.
