vasetsa pitṛbhiḥ sārddhaṃ svargaloke viriṃcije | urvaśīṃ ca yadā paśyeddevaloke sulocane || 144 ||
Narada (narrating to the Sanatkumara tradition; Uttara-Bhaga Tirtha/Phala context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shringara
The verse highlights the phala (result) of great merit: attaining a refined heavenly state where one abides with the Pitṛs in Brahmā’s celestial realm, indicating ancestral satisfaction and elevated post-mortem destiny.
Indirectly, it frames a reward-based (phala) vision typical of Purāṇic instruction: righteous, dharmic living and sacred observances culminate in higher worlds; such results often serve as stepping-stones that mature into Viṣṇu-bhakti and liberation-oriented aspiration.
It connects to Dharma-śāstric and ritual logic around Pitṛ-tarpaṇa/śrāddha and tīrtha-sevā: actions that please the Pitṛs are understood to yield specific lokas (destinations), a practical application of kalpa (ritual procedure) and traditional cosmology.
