Narada (advising a young man/son in the context of dharmic governance and household ethics)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It links inner purity with social righteousness: spiritual life is harmed when one oppresses householders through excessive taxation or indulges in degrading habits like gambling and drinking.
Bhakti is sustained by sattvic conduct—non-harm, restraint, and honesty. By rejecting exploitation and addictions, one becomes fit for steady remembrance of Vishnu and disciplined religious practice.
No single Vedanga is taught directly; the verse emphasizes applied dharma (sadācāra and rājadharma). Practically, it supports correct ritual life by ensuring lawful livelihood and self-control, which are prerequisites for successful vrata and worship.
