A devotee/supplicant addressing Lord Shiva (Vrishabhavahana)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti (devotion)
Secondary Rasa: shanta (humility/restraint)
It expresses reverent restraint: divine prerogatives (like riding the Lord’s bull-mount) are not to be imitated, and humility protects the devotee from pāpa arising from transgression or disrespect.
Bhakti here is shown as awe-filled surrender—honoring the Lord’s uniqueness (aiśvarya) and choosing respectful distance rather than entitlement, which is a hallmark of mature devotional conduct.
Primarily dharma-nīti (right conduct) rather than a technical Vedanga: it implies rules of proper ritual etiquette (ācāra) and avoidance of aparādha during worship or observances.
