The Greatness of Viṣṇu
Viṣṇor Māhātmya
tena puṇyaprabhāveṇa yadūnāṃ vaṃśasaṃbhavaḥ | tenaiva me'cyutā saṃpattathā rājyamakaṇṭakam || 42 ||
Narada (within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue framework)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It presents puṇya (religious merit) as a real causal force that shapes both collective destiny (the rise of a dynasty) and personal outcomes (prosperity and stable rule), while acknowledging Acyuta (Vishnu/Krishna) as the sustaining divine reference.
By addressing Acyuta directly, the verse frames worldly stability and prosperity as ultimately grounded in divine order; bhakti here is implied as remembrance and surrender to Vishnu as the unfailing protector behind meritorious results.
No specific Vedanga technique is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is the dharma principle of karma-phala—merit yields tangible results such as social continuity (lineage) and political stability (akaṇṭaka-rājya).
