Jyotiṣa-saṅgraha: Varga-vibhāga, Bala-nirṇaya, Garbha-phala, Āyuḥ-gaṇanā

पुमान् स्री च क्लीबश्चरस्थिरद्विःस्वभावकाः । मेषाद्याः पूर्वतोदिक्स्थाः स्वस्वस्थानचरास्तथा ॥ ७ ॥

pumān srī ca klībaścarasthiradviḥsvabhāvakāḥ | meṣādyāḥ pūrvatodiksthāḥ svasvasthānacarāstathā || 7 ||

ราศีทั้งหลายเริ่มด้วยเมษ แบ่งเป็นเพศชาย เพศหญิง และเพศกลาง อีกทั้งเป็นราศีจร ราศีคงที่ และราศีสองสภาพ ทั้งหมดตั้งเรียงจากทิศตะวันออกเป็นลำดับ และโคจรอยู่ในตำแหน่งของตนเองในจักรราศี.
