FAQs

It frames cosmic space as orderly and intelligible—directions are not arbitrary but part of a structured universe, supporting dharma through right orientation in sacred thought and practice.

Indirectly: by presenting a well-ordered cosmos, it reinforces reverence for the divine order (ṛta) that bhakti honors—devotion grows when the universe is seen as purposeful and harmonized.

Jyotiṣa-style cosmographic orientation: the verse describes a technical method of fixing directions (including intermediate quarters), a conceptual aid for mapping, ritual orientation, and traditional spatial reckoning.
