FAQs

It anchors specialized ritual knowledge (Kalpa) within an authoritative lineage—attributing detailed prescriptions of the six ritual operations to Svayambhū (Brahmā)—while situating such technical rites within the broader Moksha-dharma teaching context.

This verse is primarily procedural rather than devotional: it points to detailed ritual methods (Kalpa) and effect-oriented rites (abhicāra). In the Narada Purana’s broader teaching, such techniques are typically subordinated to higher aims like purity, discipline, and ultimately devotion and liberation.

Kalpa (a Vedāṅga concerned with ritual procedure) is highlighted—specifically the codified description of ṣaṭkarman and the formal vidhāna (method) for targeted ritual applications (abhicāra-vidhi).
