इष्टश्चानुष्टगंधश्च मधुरः कटुरेव च । निर्हारी संहतः स्निग्धो रुक्षो विशद एव च ॥ ८२ ॥

กลิ่นอาจน่ารื่นรมย์หรือไม่น่ารื่นรมย์; อาจหวานหรือฉุนเผ็ดก็ได้ อีกทั้งอาจเป็นกลิ่นชำระล้าง หนาแน่น มันชุ่ม แห้ง และ ‘วิศท’ คือใสสะอาดบริสุทธิ์
