Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It situates the Liṅga Purāṇa within the Purāṇic canon and highlights that its later section is devoted to proclaiming Rudra’s māhātmya (divine greatness), guiding readers toward reverence and devotional contemplation.
By emphasizing Rudra-māhātmya, the verse points to a core bhakti method in Purāṇas—hearing and reflecting on the Lord’s glories (śravaṇa/kīrtana)—as a means to deepen devotion.
The verse reflects an anukramaṇikā-style organizational practice: identifying a text’s division (uparibhāga) and authorship (Vyāsa), which supports systematic study and transmission—closely aligned with traditional textual cataloging and śāstra-structure awareness.
