Adhyaya 80 — Vaivasvata Manvantara: Enumeration of Manus and the Eighth Manu Sāvarṇi
मार्कण्डेय उवाच कथितस्तव सावर्णिश्छायासंज्ञासुतश्च यः ।
पूर्वजस्य मनोस्तुल्यः स मनुर्भविताष्टमः ॥
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca kathitas tava sāvarṇiś chāyāsaṃjñāsutaś ca yaḥ |
pūrvajasya manos tulyaḥ sa manur bhavitāṣṭamaḥ ||
มารกัณฑेयกล่าวว่า ‘สวารฺณิ ผู้เป็นโอรสของฉายาและสัญญา ได้อธิบายแก่ท่านแล้ว เขาจะเสมอด้วยมนูก่อนหน้า และจะเป็นมนูองค์ที่แปด’
