Adhyaya 63 — The Birth of Svarocis and the Rescue of Manoramā: The Astra-Heart and the Healing of Curses
यदा तु बहुशो वीर प्रश्रयावनतस्य मे । न प्रादाद्याचितो विद्यामायुर्वेदात्मिकां मम ॥
yadā tu bahuśo vīra praśrayāvanatasya me | na prādād yācito vidyām āyurvedātmikāṃ mama ||
แต่ถึงข้าจะกราบไหว้ด้วยความนอบน้อมและทูลขอซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า เขาก็มิได้มอบให้; แม้ถูกขอแล้ว ความรู้ที่เป็นอายุรเวทนั้นก็ยังไม่ประทาน

Even humility can be performative; a teacher may withhold instruction if the seeker lacks maturity, motive-purity, or discipline—implying that denial can be protective, not cruel.
