विराटपर्वकी सम्पूर्ण "्लोक-संख्या--२६९१ #2.# #22.7 (9) #च्दिम अलड श्रवण-महिमा श्र॒त्वा तु चरितं पुण्यं पाण्डवानां महात्मनाम्‌ | नाधिव्याधिभयं तेषां जायते पुण्यकर्मणाम्‌,पुण्यकर्मा महात्मा पाण्डवोंका पवित्र चरित्र सुनकर श्रोताओंको आधि (मानसिक दुःख) और व्याधि (शारीरिक कष्ट)-का भय नहीं होता है

śrutvā tu caritaṃ puṇyaṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ mahātmanām | nādhivyādhibhayaṃ teṣāṃ jāyate puṇyakarmaṇām ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—เมื่อได้สดับเรื่องราวอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์และชำระจิตของเหล่าปาณฑพผู้มีจิตใจยิ่งใหญ่แล้ว ผู้ฟังย่อมไม่บังเกิดความหวาดหวั่นต่ออาธิ (ทุกข์ทางใจ) และพยาธิ (โรคภัยทางกาย) เพราะกรรมอันเป็นบุญของบุรุษผู้ทรงธรรมเหล่านั้นเองเป็นมงคลแก่การสดับ
