Virāṭa Rescued from Suśarmā; Night Battle and Royal Gratitude (विराटमोक्षणं सुशर्मवधाभिमुखं च)

अन्योन्यं चापि संरब्धौ विचेरतुरमर्षणौ । कृतास्त्रौ निशितैर्बाणैरसिशक्तिगदा भूती,दोनोंका एक दूसरेके प्रति क्रोध और अमर्ष बढ़ा हुआ था। दोनों ही अस्त्रविद्यामें निपुण थे और दोनोंने ही तलवार, शक्ति तथा गदा भी ले रखी थी। उस समय दोनों तीखे बाणोंसे परस्पर प्रहार करते हुए रणभूमिमें विचरने लगे

anyonyam cāpi saṃrabdhau viceratur amarṣaṇau | kṛtāstrau niśitair bāṇair asiśaktigadābhṛtau ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า— ความเดือดดาลและความคั่งแค้นต่อกันยิ่งทวีขึ้น นักรบทั้งสองชำนาญในศัสตราวุธ ถือดาบ ศักติ (หอกพุ่ง) และกระบอง แล้วเคลื่อนวนอยู่ในสนามรบ พลางประหัตประหารกันด้วยศรอันคมกล้า
