Draupadī’s Lament and Indictment of Misfortune
नान्य: कर्ता ऋते भीमान्ममाद्य मनस: प्रियम् । तत उत्थाय रात्रौ सा विहाय शयनं स्वकम्,दुःखेन महता युक्ता मानसेन मनस्विनी । 'भीमसेनके सिवा दूसरा कोई आज मेरे मनको प्रिय लगनेवाला कार्य नहीं कर सकता'-ऐसा निश्चय करके वह विशाल नेत्रोंवाली सती-साध्वी सनाथा कृष्णा रातको अपनी शय्या छोड़कर उठी और अपने नाथ (रक्षक)-से मिलनेकी इच्छा रखकर शीघ्रतापूर्वक भीमसेनके भवनमें गयी। उस समय मनस्विनी द्रौपदी महान् मानसिक दुःखसे पीड़ित थी
vaiśampāyana uvāca | nānyaḥ kartā ṛte bhīmān mamādya manasaḥ priyam | tata utthāya rātrau sā vihāya śayanaṃ svakam | duḥkhena mahatā yuktā mānasena manasvinī |
“วันนี้ งานที่ใจเราปรารถนานั้น นอกจากภีมเสนแล้วไม่มีผู้ใดทำได้” ครั้นตัดสินดังนี้ นางจึงลุกขึ้นในยามราตรี ละทิ้งที่บรรทมของตน ด้วยความทุกข์ในใจอันใหญ่หลวง นางเทวีผู้มีจิตแน่วแน่รีบไปยังเรือนของภีมเสน เพื่อขอพึ่งนาถผู้คุ้มครอง
