Draupadī Awakens Bhīmasena

Bhārata! itane meṃ hi bhagavān sūrya-ne jis rākṣasa-ko draupadī-kī rakṣā ke liye niyukta kara rakhā thā, usane kīcaka-ko pakaṛakara āṃdhī ke samāna vega-se dūra pheṃka diyā.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights that adharma—especially the harassment of a protected woman—invites immediate restraint, and that righteous protection may manifest through extraordinary means. It affirms the ethical duty to safeguard the vulnerable and the inevitability of consequences for predatory aggression.

As Kīcaka threatens Draupadī, the rākṣasa appointed by the Sun-god to guard her intervenes, seizes Kīcaka, and flings him away with storm-like speed, preventing immediate harm and setting the stage for Kīcaka’s eventual downfall.
