Adhyāya 14: Sudēṣṇā Sends Sairandhrī to Kīcaka’s House (सुदेष्णा–सैरन्ध्री–कीचक संवादः)

का त्वं कस्यासि कल्याणि कुतो वा त्वं वरानने । प्राप्ता विराटनगरं तत्‌ त्वमाचक्ष्य शोभने,(उसने द्रौपदीसे पूछा--) “कल्याणि! तुम कौन हो और किसकी कन्या हो? अथवा सुमुखि! तुम कहाँसे इस विराटनगरमें आयी हो? शोभने! ये सब बातें मुझे सच-सच बताओ

kā tvaṁ kasyāsi kalyāṇi kuto vā tvaṁ varānane | prāptā virāṭanagaraṁ tat tvam ācakṣya śobhane ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า เขาถามเทราปทีว่า “แม่หญิงผู้เป็นมงคล เจ้าเป็นใคร และเป็นธิดาของผู้ใด? หรือแม่หญิงผู้พักตร์งาม เจ้ามาจากที่ใดจึงมาถึงนครวิราฏนี้? โฉมงามเอ๋ย จงบอกความจริงทั้งหมดแก่ข้า”
