बाहुक उवाच पुण्यश्लोकस्य वै सूतो वार्ष्णेय इति विश्रुत: । स नले विद्रुते भद्रे भाड़ासुरिमुपस्थित:,बाहुक बोला--भद्रे! उस तीसरे व्यक्तिका नाम वार्ष्णेय है। वह पुण्यश्लोक राजा नलका सारथि है। नलके वनमें निकल जानेपर वह ऋतुपर्णकी सेवामें चला गया है

Transliteration

bāhuka uvāca puṇyaślokasya vai sūto vārṣṇeya iti viśrutaḥ | sa nale vidrute bhadre bhāḍāsurim upasthitaḥ ||

Translation

พาหุกกล่าวว่า “แม่ผู้เจริญ สารถีของพระราชาปุณยศฺโลก (นล) เป็นที่เลื่องชื่อว่า ‘วารษฺเณยะ’ ครั้นเมื่อนลเสด็จหนีไปแล้ว วารษฺเณยะผู้นั้นก็เข้าไปอยู่ในราชการของพระฤตุปรรณะ”
