vaiśampāyana uvāca | gateṣu teṣu sarveṣu tapassviṣu mahātmasu | pinākapāṇir bhagavān sarvapāpaharo haraḥ |

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—โอ้ชนเมชยะ! ครั้นมหาตบสวีผู้ยิ่งใหญ่เหล่านั้นทั้งหมดจากไปแล้ว พระหระ ผู้เป็นภควาน ผู้ขจัดบาปทั้งปวง ผู้ทรงคันศรปิณากะ (มุ่งทดสอบอรชุน) ก็ปรากฏพระองค์โดยแปลงเป็นกิราตะ นายพรานภูเขา รัศมีทิพย์ของพระองค์เจิดจ้าดุจพฤกษาทอง และพระวรกายกว้างใหญ่สุกสว่างประหนึ่งเขาพระสุเมรุอีกลูกหนึ่ง
