मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse frames righteous force as an instrument of dharma: when grave adharma ripens, punishment may become inevitable and must be executed with resolute clarity, symbolized by the ‘Brahma-staff’—lawful, irresistible chastisement rather than personal vengeance.
In Mārkaṇḍeya’s narration, Rāma releases a fearsome, radiant arrow destined to end Rāvaṇa, likened to the raised Brahma-staff to emphasize its decisive, divinely sanctioned power.
