अवेक्ष्याभ्यद्रवद् वीर: सौमित्रिर्मित्रनन्दन: । राक्षस कुम्भकर्ण द्वारा सुग्रीवका अपहरण होता देख मित्रोंका आनन्द बढ़ानेवाले सुमित्राकुमार वीरवर लक्ष्मण उसकी ओर दौड़े
avekṣyābhyadravad vīraḥ saumitrir mitranandanaḥ | rākṣasena kumbhakarṇena sugrīvasyāpaharaṇaṁ dṛṣṭvā mitrāṇāṁ nandanaḥ sumitrākumāro vīravaraḥ lakṣmaṇas tasyaivābhidudrāva ||
มารกัณฑेयกล่าวว่า—ครั้นเห็นสุครีพถูกยักษ์กุมภกรรณฉุดพาไป พระลักษมณ์ผู้กล้า โอรสแห่งสุมิตรา ผู้ยังความยินดีแก่สหาย ก็พุ่งปราดเข้าไปยังเขาโดยพลัน
