Dvaītavana: Brahmaghoṣa, Rṣi-saṅgha, and Baka Dālbhyā’s Upadeśa to Yudhiṣṭhira
ayaṃ kurūn raṇe sarvān hantum utsahate prabhuḥ
The verse highlights the ethical weight of martial resolve: even when framed as rightful prowess, the willingness to annihilate one’s own kin in war raises questions about proportionality, restraint, and the moral cost of victory within dharma.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana describes a powerful figure’s readiness to kill all the Kurus in battle, emphasizing the intensity of hostility and the looming possibility of total internecine destruction.
