रावण–मारीचसंवादः तथा मृगप्रलोभनपूर्वकं सीताहरणोपक्रमः

तस्मात्‌ त्वमपि कौन्तेय न शोकं कर्तुमहसि । राज्यात्‌ स्फीतात्‌ परिगभ्रष्टसतपसा तदवाप्स्यसि,कुन्तीनन्दन! इसलिये तुम भी समृद्धिशाली राज्यसे भ्रष्ट होनेके कारण शोक न करो; तपस्याद्वारा तुम उसे प्राप्त कर लोगे

tasmāt tvam api kaunteya na śokaṃ kartum arhasi | rājyāt sphītāt paribhraṣṭas tapasa tad avāpsyasi, kuntīnandana ||

ฉะนั้น โอ กัณเตยะ เจ้าไม่ควรทำความโศก แม้เจ้าจะพลัดพรากจากราชอาณาจักรอันรุ่งเรือง แต่ด้วยตบะ เจ้าจักได้มันคืนมา
