प्रविशन्तं वनद्वारि गन्धर्वा: समवारयन्‌ | सेनाग्रयं धार्तराष्ट्रस्य प्राप्तं द्वैतवनं सर:,दुर्योधनका सेनानायक द्वैतवन सरोवरके अत्यन्त निकटतक पहुँच गया था, उस वनके द्वारपर पैर रखते ही उसको गन्धर्वोने रोक दिया

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

praviśantaṃ vanadvāri gandharvāḥ samavārayan |

senāgrayaṃ dhārtarāṣṭrasya prāptaṃ dvaitavanaṃ saraḥ ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—เมื่อกองหน้าของกองทัพฝ่ายธฤตราษฏระมาถึงสระในป่าทไวตวนะ และกำลังจะผ่านประตูป่าเข้าไป เหล่าคันธรรพก็ออกมาขวางทางไว้
