Kaurava Court Hears of the Pāṇḍavas’ Forest Hardship (वैचित्रवीर्यवंशीयस्य राज्ञः करुणाविचारः)

स तत्र तेन मनसा बभूव क्षुभितेन्द्रिय: । पतन्‍नीर्दृष्टवा द्विजेन्द्राणां वह्निः कामवशं ययौ,इस प्रकार वहाँ (आसक्तियुक्त) मनसे उन ब्रह्मर्षियोंकी पत्नियोंको देखकर अग्निदेवकी सारी इन्द्रियाँ क्षोभसे चञज्चल हो उठीं। वे सर्वधा कामके अधीन हो गये

sa tatra tena manasā babhūva kṣubhitendriyaḥ | patnīr dṛṣṭvā dvijendrāṇāṁ vahniḥ kāmavaśaṁ yayau ||

ณ ที่นั้น เมื่อจิตของอัคนีถูกดึงไปด้วยความใคร่ ครั้นทอดพระเนตรภรรยาของพราหมณ์ฤๅษีผู้เลิศ อินทรีย์ทั้งหลายของท่านก็ปั่นป่วนหวั่นไหว และอัคนีก็ตกอยู่ใต้อำนาจแห่งกามโดยสิ้นเชิง
