Educational Q&A

The verse frames a dharmic inquiry into complex causality: a single being may be linked to multiple sources (Śiva, Agni, Gaṅgā, and the Kṛttikās) without contradiction, highlighting how divine narratives integrate different agencies to express cosmic order and sacred responsibility.

Yudhiṣṭhira asks for an account of Kumāra/Skanda/Kārttikeya’s origin—specifically how he is called Agni’s son, how he is connected to Rudra (Śiva), and how Gaṅgā and the Kṛttikās function as channels or mothers in his birth.
