Skanda–Mātṛgaṇa-janma: Kumārakāḥ, Kanyāgaṇāḥ, and the Vīrāṣṭaka (स्कन्द-मातृगण-सम्भवः)

अभितसश्चापि गन्तव्यं मया स्वर्ग द्विजोत्तम,विप्रवर! पूर्वजन्ममें मेरे ऊपर जो कुछ बीता था, वह सब मैंने आपसे कह सुनाया। अब इस जीवनके पश्चात्‌ मुझे स्वर्गलोकमें जाना है

abhitaś cāpi gantavyaṃ mayā svarga dvijottama | vipravara! pūrvajanmani me mayy upari yad yat samabhavat tat sarvaṃ te mayā kathitaṃ śrutam | idānīm asya jīvanasyānte mayā svargalokaṃ gantavyam |

โอผู้ประเสริฐในหมู่ทวิชะ โอพราหมณ์ผู้เลิศ บัดนี้ข้าจำต้องออกเดินทางสู่สวรรค์ สิ่งทั้งปวงที่เกิดแก่ข้าในชาติปางก่อน—อันเป็นเหตุให้วิถีของข้าถูกกำหนด—ข้าได้กล่าวไว้แล้ว ครั้นชีวิตนี้สิ้นสุดลง หนทางของข้าถูกลิขิตให้ไปสู่สวรรค์โลก
