आरण्यकपर्वणि अध्यायः २१६ — इन्द्र-स्कन्द-संमुखता वज्रप्रहारश्च

पतमानोउद्य नरके भवतास्मि समुद्धृतः । भवितव्यमथैवं च यद्‌ दृष्टोईसि मयानघ,अनघ! मैं नरकमें गिर रहा था। आज आपने मेरा उद्धार कर दिया। इस प्रकार जब मुझे आपका दर्शन मिल गया, तब निश्चय ही आपके उपदेशके अनुसार भविष्यमें सब कुछ होगा

patamāno ’dya narake bhavatāsmī samuddhṛtaḥ | bhavitavyam athaivaṁ ca yad dṛṣṭo ’si mayānagha ||

โอ้ผู้ปราศจากมลทิน! วันนี้ข้าพเจ้ากำลังตกลงสู่นรก ท่านได้ฉุดยกข้าพเจ้าขึ้นช่วยไว้ และบัดนี้เมื่อข้าพเจ้าได้พบเห็นท่านแล้ว ก็เป็นที่แน่นอนว่าเรื่องทั้งปวงต่อไปจะเป็นไปตามคำสั่งสอนของท่าน

Association with a blameless, dharmic guide and accepting their instruction is portrayed as spiritually rescuing—turning one away from a hellish downfall and toward a destined course aligned with right conduct.

A brāhmaṇa declares that he was on the verge of falling into naraka but has been saved by the person he addresses as “anagha.” Having obtained this saving encounter (darśana), he expresses firm confidence that the future will proceed according to that person’s counsel.
